For anyone interested in trying to search for Vince McMahon on WWE.com, you will have a hard time. McMahon previously had a profile on the site under the name “Mr. McMahon,” but that page now redirects back to the WWE.com roster. Articles and photos that include the words “Mr. McMahon” still populate when you search for the phrase on the site, but it is possible that will change in the future.
The pro wrestling world is only a few weeks removed from the Wall Street Journal’s explosive report detailing allegations made by former WWE employee Janel Grant. In a lawsuit filed by Grant, she alleges that McMahon preyed on her while she was at a vulnerable point in her life, dangling a high-paying WWE job in exchange for sexual favors. Over time, Grant describes how she felt groomed by McMahon and eventually sex trafficked out to other WWE executives and talent. Former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinitis was explicitly named in the suit, and the Wall Street Journal identified Brock Lesnar as one of the unnamed wrestlers.
Interestingly, McMahon was further erased from WWE history during the WWE WrestleMania XL Kickoff event. When Michael Cole introduced Pat McAfee as part of the Kickoff panel, he noted that the former NFL player was undefeated at WWE WrestleMania. That is not entirely true, however, as McAfee infamously lost to McMahon in an impromptu match at WWE WrestleMania 38.
The contest was kicked off by Austin Theory attacking McAfee, making him an easy target for McMahon. The actual match was brief and featured McMahon punting a football into McAfee’s chest before picking up the victory. Following McMahon’s surprising win, WWE Hall of Fame inductee “Stone Cold” Steve Austin made his way to the ring and performed a Stong Cold Stunner on Theory. Austin then offered McMahon beer before giving him a Stone Cold Stunner as well. Lastly, Austin welcomed McAfee into the ring for beers but ultimately dropped him with a Stone Cold Stunner, too.
