Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal published a report detailing the horrifying allegations former WWE employee Janel Grant levied against Vince McMahon. Among them, Grant alleges that McMahon groomed her to be sex trafficked to WWE executives and stars, with John Laurinitis and Brock Lesnar explicitly named. McMahon, via his attorney, issued a statement denying the allegations.
Following the allegations, Slim Jim announced via a statement that it would be suspending its promotional activities and sponsorship of WWE. Late last night, McMahon announced that he was resigning from all his WWE positions and was no longer associated with the company.
In light of that, Slim Jim has released the following statement to John Pollock of POST Wrestling:
After the departure of Vince McMahon, and discussions with WWE TKO senior leadership, Slim Jim has decided to re-enter the Royal Rumble
WrestleVotes reports that Slim Jim will remain a main sponsor for not just the Royal Rumble, but also future WWE events.
Tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble kicks off at 8 pm EST and will be followed by a press conference, at which WWE COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque is expected to speak. I will be in the press box for tonight’s event and will be providing coverage of the show here on the site. You can find more of our coverage by following us on X, @WrestlingHaus.
