Last week, Jinder Mahal found himself in the crosshairs of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who roasted him on the microphone before dropping him with a People’s Elbow. This week, he was once again engaged in a WWE Raw promo battle and scuffle, this time at odds with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins.
Mahal griped to Rollins that he had been overlooked in the company for years, which Rollins agreed with and said now was his moment to take a swing, literally. Mahal declined, but when Rollins turned his back, The Modern Day Maharaja leveled him with a clothesline to the back of the head. After taking some more abuse, Rollins was able to rally and nearly hit his Stomp finisher, but Mahal was able to roll out of the ring
On last night’s Raw Talk, recorded after Raw went off the air, Mahal was asked what his objective was in confronting Rollins.
“It’s my objective to regain respect,” he began. “It’s my objective to no longer be overlooked. Overlooked by the WWE Universe, overlooked by the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Let me remind you, as a reminder, the WWE Universe, I’m a former WWE Champion, the greatest WWE Champion of all time.
“Now, Seth Rollins dreams of headlining WrestleMania, but the reality is, I will regain championship gold, and this year’s WrestleMania will be mine. And with the World Heavyweight Championship, I will be the one with a platform, and I will continue to expose, I will continue to enlighten, I will continue to speak the truth.”
General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed on WWE Raw that next week’s episode will feature Rollins defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Mahal.
