CM Punk has been back in the WWE fold for more than a month now, and to many fans, it still does not seem real. At the moment, Punk finds himself at odds with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins. The two exchanged barbs publicly even before Punk returned to WWE and have played into that friction during their on-screen promo exchanges. Some of those exchanges WWE fans have found to be reminiscent of those he had with AEW stars he had issues with, like “Hangman” Adam Page.
Of course, those issues boiled over into a firey AEW All Out 2022 press conference that was followed up by a locker room brawl. Among those involved included Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega, who were all stripped of their titles and taken off TV following the incident. As I exclusively reported not long after the All Out altercation, another smaller creature took some damage during the melee: CM Punk’s dog, Larry.
As I reported, from the perspective of Punk’s camp, the door to his dressing room was “kicked in” after the media scrum. When the door was flung open, Larry was hit in the face. A few days later, at a pre-scheduled veterinarian appointment, Punk was informed two of Larry’s teeth had been knocked loose and had to be removed.
More recently, Larry has dealt with other health issues as Punk noted in an interview with 640 The Score two months ago that his furry friend had blown out his ACL. On last night’s WWE 2024 Preview Special, Punk was asked how Larry was doing.
“Oh, gosh, he’s doing so much better,” Punk said. “He’s doing much better. He’s had a string of really, really good days. He had a rough couple of months. I don’t know if it was harder on me and April (His wife, aka WWE’s AJ Lee) or was harder on him, but he’s trying to jump back on the couch now. That’s how we got hurt in the first place. So we just gotta keep an eye on him still. But he’s doing a lot better. I appreciate you asking.”
