This past Saturday night, All Elite Wrestling presented their latest pay-per-view offering, Worlds End. The big show was capped off with MJF losing his AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe before The Devil revealed himself to be Adam Cole. Elsewhere on the card, The Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takesita and Powerhouse Hobbs teamed with AEW World Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill to take on Sting, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and Chris Jericho.
The match served as the penultimate pay-per-view bout for Sting, who will retire at March’s AEW Revolution but will likely be remembered for the reaction Jericho garnered. During the contest, the fans loudly booed Jericho and broke out in NDA chants. The reaction and chants likely stemmed from allegations that had popped up online after an alleged victim of Jericho’s shared a “heart” emoji in response to an X post bringing up previous allegations against him.
AEW President Tony Khan was asked directly during the post-Worlds End press conference if Jericho had ever been internally accused of sexual misconduct and did not respond with a no, fuelling further speculation.
PWInsider reports that Jericho was backstage at tonight’s AEW Dynamite taping, but not used on camera.
Neither Jericho nor AEW has yet to address the allegations directly.
