Charlotte Flair is one of if not the most decorated WWE stars ever, men and women included. The daughter of WWE Hall of Fame inductee “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is a fifteen-time WWE Women’s Champion, with reigns on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. She is also the final Divas Champion and the 2020 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble winner, among her many other accolades.
Fightful reports that Flair will have much more time in front of her to keep notching accomplishments. Based on sources they have spoken with, Flair has agreed to a contract extension that will see her stay with WWE for many more years. It was noted that this was mentioned recently on Madusa’s video podcast, but many within the company are just finding out about it. She is the first known contract extension of a WWE talent under the ownership of TKO Group Holdings. Dominik and Rey Mysterio reportedly re-signed with the promotion recently, but Flair’s new deal was finalized before them.
As part of Flair’s new deal, she is reportedly getting a “huge” increase in pay along with some other amenities, like a tour bus, which has become more common with pro wrestlers. Flair is now said to be one of the highest-paid WWE women ever. On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned how TKO would pay top talent more to re-sign as they do not want anyone of note to become a free agent.
This news would likely have been easier for Flair to enjoy had she not suffered a terrible accident on WWE SmackDown two weeks ago. Charlotte slipped during a spot with Asuka on the top rope, crashing into the ropes before falling awkwardly to the mat. She reportedly suffered a torn ACL, torn meniscus, and torn MCL and will undergo surgery as soon as it can be scheduled.
