This past Saturday night on AEW Collision, Abadon handily defeated Jazmin Allure in a little over one minute. It was the second quick loss for Allure within twenty-four hours, as she lost to Nyla Rose in about two minutes the night prior at ROH Final Battle. Before Abadon could soak in her latest victory, the lights in the arena went out, and when they came back on, TBS Champion Julia Hart was standing across the ring. Hart laid her title down in the middle of the ring, challenging Abadon, who responded with an attack.
As Abadon looked over a downed Hart, Skye Blue appeared out of nowhere and teased an alliance with the demonic female star. The tease was short-lived, as Blue blindsided Abadon from behind and began beating her down with Hart. On commentary, it was speculated that she had changed her name to Skye Black now that she was in cahoots with Hart. As the two continued their assault, Thunder Rosa, sitting at the Spanish commentary desk, leaped to her feet and hit the ring for the save.
It was later announced that Rosa will make her long-awaited return to in-ring action for AEW next Saturday night on Collision when she teams with Abadon to take on Hart and Blue/Black.
Rosa’s last AEW match occurred on the August 10, 2022, episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, where she teamed with Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida to defeat Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose. On the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, a few days later, Rosa revealed that she could no longer defend her title due to a back injury. Some within the company questioned the legitimacy of the injury, which became a storyline in the short-lived AEW All Access series.
Rosa was not immediately stripped of her championship and an interim champion was crowned in her absence, Toni Storm. Storm later lost the interim title to Jamie Hayter, who became the official champion on November 23, when it was announced that Rosa had officially been stripped. Storm’s reign is also retroactively considered an official AEW Women’s World Championship reign.
