Fans can see The Iron Claw nationwide in theaters on December 22 unless they are one of the lucky few to get invited to a pre-screening. The dramatic film documents the tumultuous tale of The Von Erichs that has been highlighted in docuseries like Dark Side Of The Ring. Along with the movie’s release has come a renewed interest in The Von Erichs and their future in pro wrestling. Earlier this year, I spoke with Kevin Von Erich, who confirmed the family is relocating back to Texas, where they are beloved, with plans to start a training school and possibly run shows.
Kevin’s sons, Ross and Marshall, have made a name for themselves in the industry over the past few years. Notably, the duo held the MLW World Tag Team Championships for 438 days, the longest reign of any tag team in MLW history. Also, in my interview with Kevin, he confirmed that his sons are now free agents and can wrestle for or sign anywhere they like.
On last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that The Von Erichs, Kevin, Marshall, and Ross will be appearing on next week’s episode in Dallas. Dallas is, of course, where The Von Erichs became most well-known and are literal heroes in the market. No other details were given regarding what the trio will be doing, but it seems safe to say that at least one AEW performer will likely fall victim to their patented Iron Claw submission maneuver.
It is also worth mentioning that AEW World Champion MJF appears briefly in The Iron Claw and serves as an Executive Producer on the film.
The Iron Claw Executive Producer and star, Chavo Guerrero, will join me and former WWE creative team member Robert Karpeles next Tuesday on Rumor & Innuendo. Tuesday is when the embargo lifts to speak about the film, and fans who tune in can ask Guerrero questions about the movie.
Rumor & Innuendo records live Monday through Friday at Noon EST before being uploaded to the Rumor & Innuendo podcast feed, which is available on all major podcast platforms.
The live recording and immediate replay can be found on the @WWECreativeish, @WrestlingHaus, @Nick_Hausman, @AdFreeShows, and @rumorinpod X accounts, as well as the Haus of Wrestling, Ad Free Shows, and Rumor & Innuendo YouTube channels.
