CM Punk has been back in the WWE for just over a week and has already found himself in the crosshairs of many of the company’s top stars. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins broke down into what appears to be a worked meltdown the moment he saw Punk appear at Survivor Series. Drew McIntyre has kept fans speculating that he is also at odds with Punk and could be seen stomping away from the WarGames cage before The Second City Savior made his presence felt. Punk is another name rumored to be on a collision course with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, whom he may come face-to-face with on WWE SmackDown this Friday.
Now, a new name is throwing his hat into the ring as a potential Punk opponent: Jey Uso.
On today’s episode of The Bump, Jey gave his candid thoughts on Adam Pearce attempting to sign Punk to the Raw brand.
“Man, sign CM Punk,” he said. “Why wouldn’t we sign CM Punk? I know he got a whole bunch of haters or whatever. Use, if we gonna be honest, he’s a superstar first and foremost. People talk about him, and if it’s got anything to do with wrestling, his name’s in it.
“He’s like on some Tribal Chief status, Uce. He’s top guy regardless of whatever’s going on. So, my invitation is open, man. Bring him, let’s go. Let’s run it, bro. I’ll be your first one to run. It’s all good. It’s all love. Let’s go. Let’s run it. Welcome back, though, CM Punk.”
Punk is expected to sign with WWE Raw this Monday night, but his first match may not be Uso. Outside of Rollins, who appears to be on an immediate collision course, Punk has exchanged social media barbs with The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio.
