Last year, it was reported that Bo Dallas would be returning to WWE programming for the first time since 2019. The former NXT Champion was released from the company in April 2021 after well over a year of inactivity and was reportedly brought back into the fold in late 2022 to take on the role of Uncle Howdy in a storyline opposite of his real-life brother, Bray Wyatt.
Tragically, Wyatt passed away from what was reported to be a heart attack at just 36 years old in August, seemingly putting an end to any future plans for the Uncle Howdy character and leaving Dallas’ WWE return in limbo. Now, a new report has provided the latest on the company’s plans for Dallas following Wyatt’s sudden passing.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared that the current belief is that Dallas will not be returning to WWE programming after all. He went on to note that Dallas was only brought back to play a key role in Bray Wyatt storylines and as a result, fans should not expect Dallas to return to TV.
Bo Dallas last appeared on WWE programming just under four years ago at Crown Jewel 2019 where he competed alongside his B-Team partner Curtis Axel in a Tag Team Turmoil match to determine the WWE Tag Team World Cup winners. Dallas went on to take part in a European tour a few weeks later and competed in his last match on November 13th 2019 in Zurich, Switzerland. There, he, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode lost to Chad Gable (then known as Shorty G) alongside Kalisto and Lince Dorado of Lucha House Party.
Haus of Wrestling has partnered with Inside The Ropes to present An Afternoon With Kevin Nash And Sean Waltman on November 25 at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, IL, ten minutes from the All-State Arena. Tickets are now available at JoesLiveRosemont.com.
