Velveteen Dream Denies He Has Been At WWE Performance Center

Patrick Clark, better known to pro wrestling fans as Velveteen Dream, was signed by WWE in 2015 and wrestled for NXT until being released in 2021. With his chiseled physique and bizarre personality, Clark was considered a top prospect for the company and was regularly presented in high-profile NXT matches.

Clark’s release came after an allegation in 2020 that he sent inappropriate images to underage boys on Instagram. More allegations emerged of him engaging with underage individuals during the Speaking Out movement. WWE conducted an internal investigation into the allegations and found no wrongdoing. A year after his release, Clark was arrested on charges of first-degree battery and trespassing on a property after a warning, and those charges were dropped not long after. During that same period of time, he was arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Over the weekend, a rumor sprung up online that Clark had been working out at the WWE Performance Center, prompting surprise by many that he could be back with the company. Fightful reported that most of the people they spoke with at the Performance Center said they had not seen him there and that the company was not interested in having him back. Clark has now taken to his Instagram Stories to address the speculation directly.

“I am not in a rehabilitation facility, nor have I visited Orlando, Florida,” he began. “The WWE Performance Center, or any WWE events or facilities. I encourage all wrestling media and platforms to highlight the women and men who put together awesome weekly television! And not waste your time pushing false narratives and fake news about me! I haven’t contributed anything to your line of entertainment for YEARS! Please do better and use your platforms to showcase the bright and prominent future that is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING.”
