Earlier today, it was announced that Jade Cargill has signed a multi-year with WWE. Her final AEW match took place less than two weeks ago, and prior to that, she had been off TV for months following her loss of the TBS Championship. Cargill reportedly left AEW on good terms and was greeted warmly backstage following her final match.
Just now, on the AEW WrestleDream media call, Jon Alba asked Tony Khan what he thinks about Cargill’s leap to WWE. Khan said that he only has positive things to say about Cargill and that she is always welcome back at the promotion. He noted that she had a great run in AEW and that she likely has a great career ahead of her.
The official release about Cargill signing with WWE did not make clear whether the powerhouse signing will debut as part of the main roster or NXT. With that said, WWE NXT is set to go live tonight on the USA Network, and WWE NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is taking on all comers. Anything is possible, and it is is the realm of possibility that she follows up on today’s announcement with a statement on tonight’s show.
