This past week, WWE merged with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings, a publicly traded company owned by Ari Emanuel’s Endeavor Group Holdings. With the merger came layoffs, as multiple WWE employees were laid off shortly after, and major cuts to the WWE main and NXT roster followed. Some of the names already released include Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Emma, Elias, and more. Matt Riddle has now taken to social media to confirm he is no longer with WWE, as well.
“Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE,” He began. “Thank you for the memories and opportunities also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon.”
Riddle was signed by WWE in 2018 and is a former United States and Tag Team Champion. His final WWE match took place earlier this month when he tagged with Drew McIntyre in a Tornado Tag Team match against The Viking Raiders, which they lost.
