Today started off with a pair of positive WWE news items: Australia hosting the 2024 Elimination Chamber and Smackdown returning to USA. Since those big business announcements, the day has been filled with unfortunate news about various talents being released from the roster. Main roster talents like Mustafa Ali, Shelton Benjamin, and Dolph Ziggler were some of the first to be let go, and now more have followed.
Fightful reports that Shanky, Yuliya Leon, Dabba Kato, Bryson Montana, Mace, Mansoor, and Dana Brooke have all been released by WWE. Brooke is easily the most tenured of the releases, signing with WWE in 2013 and capturing the WWE 24/7 Championship on fifteen occasions.
Mansoor has released the following video confirming his release and commenting on his future.
Quincy Elliott, who has been touring with the NXT brand, was the first NXT talent to announce their departure. They noted they were ready to “Let the celebration begin” after getting the call.
Haus of Wrestling sends its best to everyone affected by today’s releases.
