Yesterday, Sonny Kiss teamed with Exotico legend Pimpinela Escarlata in a successful effort against BUSSY, Effy and Allie Katch, in the main event of Effy’s Big Gay Brunch 7. It was an exciting match, and following it, Effy grabbed the microphone to heap praise on both of his opponents. While doing so, he looked at Kiss, called her a legend, and noted how inspired others were by her journey, something that brought the flamboyant star to tears. The moment was likely more emotional than any of us watching the show thought, as it appears Kiss is at a turning point in her career.
Fightful reports that All Elite Wrestling let Kiss’ contract expire at the end of August, and as of now, she is a free agent. Kiss has also been removed from the official AEW roster page. Her last match under contract with Tony Khan took place at the September 22 ROH HonorClub taping, when she teamed with her Truthbusters’ stablemates Jeeves and Slim J in a losing effort to Dalton Castle and The Boys.
Haus of Wrestling will bring you more on Kiss’ release and plans for the future as we find out more information.
