The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, shared a video on Instagram earlier today revealing he successfully underwent his neck fusion surgery yesterday. The video features a compilation of moments from throughout the big day and is set to music from Forrest Gump.
“All right seven o’clock in the morning June 1 2023,” he began. “I am in Birmingham Alabama getting ready to head over to Andrews Medical Center to see Dr. Cordover to have a level one fusion on my C four and C five vertebrae in my neck.”
The video then switches to the hospital, where Strowman can be seen getting on an elevator before having his neck shaved in preparation for the surgery. He then cuts to the room where his surgery is being done and you can see a monitor showing the surgeon’s point of view. The surgeon meticulously moves his instruments around the big man’s spine, which is in plain sight for all to see.
In the end, we see Strowman in bed, a bit out of it from the anesthesia, letting everyone know the surgery was a success. At this time, there is no update on what the timeline for Strowman’s recovery, and a possible return to the ring, looks like.
Prior to his injury, the former Wyatt Family member had been teaming with Ricochet on WWE TV. The two men seemed to be developing chemistry and were getting bigger reactions from the crowd every time they came out. Their efforts were rewarded with a spot in the Men’s Showcase Match at WWE WrestleMania 39 earlier this year. With Strowman away from the ring, WWE has repositioned Ricochet as a singles star and had him qualify for the Money In The Bank ladder match this past Monday on Raw with a win over former WWE Champion, The Miz.
