The road to WrestleMania XL has been somewhat bumpy for World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to say the least. Just weeks into the new year, Rollins suffered a devasting injury during a title defense against Jinder Mahal on Raw that would keep him out of in-ring action for most of the build to the Premium Live Event. Shortly after, WWE’s reported long-time plans for Rollins to defend his title against CM Punk at WrestleMania were scrapped after Punk tore his right triceps during Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Rollins’ creative direction heading toward The Grandest Stage Of Them All has been mired as of late, becoming embroiled in the confusing main event picture involving Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and Roman Reigns. However, it won’t be long until we know for sure who the World Heavyweight Champion will defend his title against as his challenger will be determined in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match in Perth, Australia tomorrow.
Ahead of the Premium Live Event, however, Rollins has brought up another interesting possibility. Speaking to Submission Radio, Rollins stated that he wants to give his title the biggest platform possible at WrestleMania – even if it means defending against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns or even The Rock himself.
“I don’t know how the cards are gonna fall, I don’t know which way the chips are gonna go. I’m open to doing whatever is going to be the best, whatever is going to be the biggest thing we can possibly do,” Rollins admitted. “I really want to give this championship the showcase that it deserves and if that means pulling double duty, if that means putting it on the line against The Rock or Roman or whoever, I don’t care. I don’t care what it is. I want to give this thing what it deserves. I want to prop it up as much as possible, but I also want to do the biggest possible thing we can do.”
