Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Homecoming episode saw Sting and Darby Allin team to defeat Powerhouse Hobbs and Konsuke Takeshita in the main event. Following the match, Sting was approached by Tony Schiavone in the ring, and was asked who his final opponents ever will be at AEW Revolution. Before Sting could respond, The Young Bucks’ music hit, and the duo made their way to the top of the Daily’s Place entrance ramp. No words were exchanged between the AEW EVPs and The Icon, but it would seem that Sting’s final match will see him tag with Allin against The Young Bucks.
The Bucks have not been seen in AEW since their loss to Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear last November. The match had an AEW World Tag Team Championship shot on the line, which Jericho will be cashing in this Saturday night at Battle Of The Belts alongside Sammy Guevara since Omega is out with diverticulitis.
AEW blared Jericho’s theme music when he appeared on the show earlier tonight, and that was likely to drown out negative chants like he received at Worlds End after a former female AEW wrestler replied with a heart emoji to a post on social media alleging women were scared to speak out about Jericho. Following Worlds End, at the post-show press conference, Tony Khan declined to answer with a “no” when asked if Jericho had ever internally been accused of sexual misconduct.
