CM Punk wrestled his first WWE match in ten years last night at Madison Square Garden, picking up a victory over “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. The match and subsequent promo have been largely met with excitement by the pro wrestling masses, much to the chagrin of Punk’s detractors. One notable name who has not been shy about their disdain for Punk is WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins, who has regularly taken shots at Punk for the way he’s talked about him, WWE, and several of his friends. A reminder that while Punk merch is flying off the shelves, not everyone is thrilled to see The Second City Saint back in the WWE mix.
In a recent interview for The Collection with Brad Gilmore, Grayson Waller touched upon what it has been like to have Punk and Randy Orton back in WWE.
“I got to meet Punk for the first time last week,” he began. “I’m not going to say anything else about that meeting. I think people have seen how I am online and those types of interactions. So, I’m not going to give away how that interaction went. Same with Randy, you know? I have met him briefly in the past but to meet him properly last week, and I think Grayson Waller is who he is.
“So maybe those interactions aren’t as polite and as nice as maybe in other instances, but that’s okay. I think the roster in WWE right now is stacked from top to bottom. It’s kind of crazy. Like when you look at the SmackDown roster, which I’m a part of, you got Roman Reigns, who’s the champion, and sometimes he’s not even there, but those shows are still stacked.”
