Tonight’s AEW Dynamite is emanating from Dallas, Texas – the home of the legendary Von Erich clan. Ahead of the release of The Iron Claw later this month, Kevin and his sons Ross and Marshall Von Erich appeared live on tonight’s show. The trio stood backstage with Renee Paquette, with Kevin briefly speaking about seeing many friends backstage at AEW. However, it wasn’t long before they were approached by AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, Danhausen, and Trent Berretta.
Cassidy welcomed the Texas natives to the show and said he could use their help, with Ross and Marshall agreeing to back up the International Champion this Friday on AEW Rampage in a trios match. The opponents for Ross, Marshall, and Cassidy have yet to be revealed, and the champion has yet to find a steady storyline since wrapping up with Jon Moxley last month at AEW Full Gear. It was also not addressed why Cassidy wasn’t relying on Danhausen or Berretta, who were already with him.
The Iron Claw will primarily focus on Kevin, Kerry, and David Von Erich, showing the highs and especially the lows of the wrestling lifestyle in that era. Based on early impressions of the movie, while it’s not exactly true to life, The Iron Claw does a strong job of bringing the emotional Von Erich story to the big screen for a mass audience. The film will be released to the public on December 22, 2023. Following the theatrical run, it was recently revealed that viewers will be able to stream The Iron Claw at home on Max along with other A24 films.
