Becky Lynch has been one of the top women in WWE for about five years now, and the rise of “The Man” coincided with a confrontation between Lynch and Nia Jax at WWE Survivor Series. Jax gave Lynch a broken nose, and the shot of Lynch’s bloody nose helped catapult the WWE star to the next level. However, as pointed out by Lynch tonight, the two were never able to meet one-on-one in the ring. That looks set to change in the immediate future, as Lynch and Jax had an intense exchange of words tonight.
“For the last five years, Nia and I have kept missing each other,” Lynch said before Jax appeared. “I went on to main-event WrestleMania. She went on to get double-ACL surgery because Nia is a woman so unlikable that even her own knees wouldn’t stand up for her.”
Jax soon made her presence known, and the two went back and forth with Jax claiming to have almost ended Lynch’s career with her punch. Lynch complimented Jax’s abilities as a wrestler while also referencing her history in the ring by stating that almost everyone Jax feuds with ends up on the shelf. It was then that Jax took credit for Lynch’s success following the broken nose incident and, while things got intense, there was no physical exchange between the two tonight.
Lynch last competed at WWE Survivor Series, taking part in the Women’s WarGames match. Her team was successful at the event, and Lynch has had a few brief interactions with Jax in recent days to set up tonight’s segment between the two.
After first being released by WWE in 2021, Jax made her return to the company this past September. Since then, she has picked up wins over Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Raquel Rodriguez. As of now, no match has officially been announced between Jax and Lynch. However, the company did just reveal that a special Day 1 edition of WWE Raw will take place on January 1, 2024. That could be an opportune time for the long-awaited matchup to take place.
