Cora Jade has been absent from NXT programming for the past four months, last appearing on the black and gold brand back on August 1st when she cleared out her belongings from the women’s locker room backstage before announcing that the fans did not appreciate her and she was leaving. She last competed on the July 25th episode of NXT the week before where she lost a Kendo Stick match to Dana Brooke, who has since been released from the company.
However, it appears the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion could finally be on her way back. During last night’s edition of NXT, various QR codes could be seen throughout the program. The code links to this page on WWE’s website which promotes tickets for NXT Deadline as well as the WWE Network. It also features a video message where a voice that sounds similar to Jade’s says “See you at Deadline!”
This isn’t the only last-minute change that affected NXT Deadline. Also on last night’s show, Wes Lee announced that he’d no longer be able to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at the event due to suffering an injury and will be replaced by Dragon Lee, who will be accompanied by Dominik’s father Rey Mysterio. It was later announced that he would be out of action for 8-12 months with PWInsider reporting that the injury is serious and related to his back.
NXT Deadline is set to air this Saturday and will feature the annual men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenges in which the winner will become the #1 contender for their respective world championships, Ilja Draguonv defending the NXT Championship against Baron Corbin, a steel cage match between Roxanne Perez and Kiana James as well as Lexis King’s Premium Live Event debut against former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.
