Last night, AEW taped this coming Saturday’s Collision episode at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During the taping, Bryan Danielson took on Andrade El Idolo in an AEW Continental Classic match. Based on photos circulating on social media, Danielson appears to have either injured or re-injured his broken orbital bone during the match.
The American Dragon can be seen with his eye patch off and bleeding from his currently injured eye. Several members of the AEW medical team are surrounding him, checking on his well-being. Blackpool Combat Club members Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, and Jon Moxley can also be seen in the ring by his side.
Haus of Wrestling has reached out to AEW for clarification on what happened and has not heard back. From those we have spoken to in AEW, it does sound like there were some “rumblings” about the situation backstage, but nothing further than that.
This story will be addressed at the top of today’s episode of Rumor & Innuendo at Noon EST.
