Last month, a WWE Intercontinental Championship Fatal Four-Way Number One Contender match on Raw did not go as planned. In the match’s closing moments, Bronson Reed hit The Miz with his top rope Tsunami while Ivar drilled Ricochet with a moonsault. Both big men immediately went for a pinfall, but at the last moment, Ricochet was able to kick out, leaving Miz the only man being pinned and handing Reed the victory. It was a big win for Reed; however, Ricochet was reportedly supposed to stay down for the count, resulting in a double pinfall.
Ricochet is said to have suffered a concussion during the match, which is why he accidentally kicked out at the end, leading to confusion. Following the scary incident, he was put into concussion protocol while he recovered from injury. That recovery ended this past weekend when the high-flyer returned to action at a pair of WWE Live Holiday Tour events. On both shows, he was able to pick up a victory over Bronson Reed.
At the moment, Ricochet is not announced for tonight’s episode of WWE Raw. Since he does appear ready for action, he may get added to tonight’s show and back into the Intercontinental Championship picture. The main event for Raw will see Seth “Freaking” Rollins defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso. Also announced for tonight’s show are Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Shayne Baszler vs Nia Jax, and Drew McIntyre vs Sami Zayn.
