Long-time NXT personality and former WWE The Bump host McKenzie Mitchell announced on X today that she has been released: “Today I was released by WWE. I met my husband, moved cross country from CT to FL for @wwenxt (a place I’ve always considered home), and met friends that became like family. I’ve always said and firmly believe in ‘when door closes, another opens.'”
Mitchell joined WWE in 2019 and has been a regular face on NXT over the last few years where she was a backstage interviewer. She is also the wife of NXT lead commentator Vic Joseph, whom she married in October last year. She last appeared on WWE programming on NXT this past Tuesday and served as a ring announcer at a WWE live event earlier this month.
Her release appears to be part of a round of corporate employee lay-offs at WWE today, as first reported by Brandon Thurston. Back in September, the company let go of over 100 employees, including several Executive Vice Presidents, following its merger with UFC into TKO Group Holdings.
