Cody Rhodes has been on a dominant run ever since his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 last year. From a trilogy of excellent matches with Seth Rollins to winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns, Rhodes has certainly proven he’s gone from undesirable to undeniable as he liked to say in the early days of AEW.
With the above in mind and his continued main event status in WWE, it seems more likely than not that The American Nightmare will follow in his father’s footsteps in joining the WWE Hall of Fame someday – a sentiment shared by current Hall of Famer Mark Henry during his recent interview with Rhodes on Busted Open Radio. Before he can be bestowed that honor, however, Cody wants to see his brother and current AEW star Dustin Rhodes inducted first in honor of his in-ring career spanning 35 years.
“I very much appreciate you saying that,” Cody replied in response to Henry’s praise. “I have never ever heard Hall of Famer before and that would just blow my mind. We’ve got to get old chicken in that Hall of Fame first though, my brother. We got to get chicken in there, he’s just out there still hitting the ropes where you can hear the ‘ding’, he’s hitting them so hard. So yeah, gotta get him in there.”
This isn’t the first time recently that Cody has pushed for Dustin’s career to be celebrated in that manner. In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated back in August, Rhodes shared that one of his career goals is to be the one to induct his brother into the WWE Hall of Fame and claimed he’d never turn down the chance to team with him one more time.
