WWE Survivor Series is in less than two weeks and the show will bring back WarGames for the second year in a row, with The Judgment Day set to play a major role. Last week on WWE Raw, it was revealed that Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and J.D. McDonagh will face off against Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso. However, more faces are expected to be added to the match, and Fightful Select has revealed the working plan for the two extra participants – Drew McIntyre and a returning Randy Orton.
Orton has been expected back around Survivor Series after suffering an injury back in May 2022, when he was still teaming with Matt Riddle. Though nothing is set in stone yet, the report states that Orton has been the one planned to fill the fifth spot for months now, and his presence is expected to be revealed before the big event. If he competes on November 25, it will be the first time Orton wrestles a match in 18 months.
The idea behind announcing Orton’s participation early is to ensure fans don’t expect CM Punk in the spot, as the show is taking place in Chicago. Speculation regarding a possible WWE return for Punk has run wild for months, with Punk’s side at least being open to the idea. However, as of now, it does not seem as though a return is being planned.
As for McIntyre, he has been penciled in as siding with The Judgment Day for months as well. The Scottish Warrior has displayed heelish tendencies as of late and a recent loss against Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel seems to have only made matters worse. Because of that, McIntyre forming a temporary alliance with The Judgment Day shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans. McIntyre’s role on TV heading into WWE WrestleMania 40 should be interesting to watch unfold as his contract reportedly comes to an end around that time.
