Roman Reigns is set to defend the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship on a broadcast show for the first time in almost three months at WWE Crown Jewel next week. Reigns defends against LA Knight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in what will be his first match on WWE programming since defeating Jey Uso in the main event of SummerSlam back in August. His only match since was at a WWE live event in Kansas City earlier this month where he defended his title against Sami Zayn.
With Survivor Series now less than a month away, questions have been raised about Reigns’ match for the event. At last year’s Survivor Series, he headlined the show in the Men’s WarGames match alongside his fellow Bloodline members against Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, and The Brawling Brutes. However, a new report has claimed that Reigns will, in fact, be missing the Premium Live Event altogether.
Dave Meltzer reports in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Roman Reigns is currently not scheduled to appear at WWE Survivor Series, despite the show being considered one of the company’s biggest annual Premium Live Events. Even more surprisingly, his defense against LA Knight is said to be his final Premium Live Event match of the year as Meltzer noted he is not scheduled to compete on a PLE again until the Royal Rumble next year.
Should The Tribal Chief miss the event as reported, it will mark the first Survivor Series he’s missed in five years. Reigns has competed at almost every Survivor Series of the past decade except two: He missed the 2014 edition due to an incarcerated hernia keeping him out of action whilst the 2018 iteration occurred during his extended absence from the company, during which he was battling the return of his leukemia.
