Tony Khan Hits Out At Vince McMahon Over ‘Alleged Misdeeds’

Preparations for tonight’s head-to-head battle between WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite continue unabated as it was announced that both shows will run commercial-free for the first 30 minutes of their respective broadcasts. WWE fired the first shot, announcing the move yesterday afternoon, adding to an already stacked episode of the black and gold brand that will see appearances from John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, Paul Heyman, and more. Mere hours later, Tony Khan responded in kind.

During last night’s edition of WWE Raw, Khan announced via X that Dynamite will join NXT in featuring no commercials for the first 30 minutes of the show. In a follow-up post, the AEW President seemingly confirmed the move was in direct response to WWE’s announcement earlier in the day, posting a GIF featuring the caption, “Okay, you want to be a d–k…” Khan didn’t stop the shade towards the rival company there, however, and later took a shot at Vince McMahon himself!

In response to Khan’s Dynamite commercial-free announcement, one fan made it clear they would not be watching the show. Khan hit back at them, replying with a GIF of Roderick Strong saying, “who gives a f–k?” The move garnered criticism from another X user who said, “If Sir Vince McMahon said this, there would be many failed AEW fans crying non-stop and furious.” Khan didn’t hold back at the mention of the former WWE President: “If Sir Vince McMahon said [who the f–k cares], it would be the least of his alleged misdeeds,” Khan responded.

Both WWE and AEW are pulling out all the stops ahead of their first head-to-head bout in over a year tonight: Dynamite will feature the AEW in-ring debut of Adam Copeland against Luchasaurus, Minoru Suzuki and Eddie Kingston facing off for the very first time, defenses of both the Women’s World title as well as the International title and more.

Meanwhile, NXT will be headlined by a clash between former NXT Champions Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker who will be accompanied by John Cena and Paul Heyman respectively. The show will also feature Asuka’s return to the black and gold brand as she faces Roxanne Perez, Cody Rhodes making a major announcement and Gallus taking on The Brawling Brutes and Tyler Bate in a ‘Pub Rules’ match. WWE has also heavily teased an appearance from The Undertaker, though he has not been officially announced for the show.
