Tomorrow, for one night only, the Wednesday Night Wars will be re-ignited – on a Tuesday. Both companies have loaded up their shows full of impressive cards, with WWE adding a number of big names as NXT guest stars. NXT will also be commercial-free for the first 30 minutes, and it appears AEW has its own response. According to a new report from Fightful Select, the company has received a 10-minute overrun from Warner Bros-Discovery. This is close to the overrun the company received last week after technical issues with the network during Dynamite resulted in several precious minutes of TV time being wasted.
Adam Copeland is scheduled to make his in-ring debut for AEW tomorrow night against Luchasaurus. Additionally, Saraya will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida, “Hangman” Adam Page and “Switchblade” Jay White will battle it out for a shot at the AEW World Championship, and Chris Jericho is set to face Powerhouse Hobbs. Rey Fenix is currently scheduled to defend the AEW International Championship against Jon Moxley as well, but it’s unclear whether Moxley is fully recovered from the concussion he suffered last month at AEW Grand Slam, adding some doubt toward that match actually occurring.
Over on NXT, two of the brand’s top names will collide when Carmelo Hayes (with John Cena in his corner) faces Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman in his corner). Asuka is set to wrestle Roxanne Perez, and Cody Rhodes will appear, reportedly with a big announcement. WWE even teased the appearance of The Undertaker for the episode, indicating that the company is going all-out in order to beat Dynamite in the ratings this week.
