Earlier today, WWE began cutting talent, and the list of names so far is notable: Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Emma, Top Dollas, Riddick Moss, and more. Of the names listed, Ziggler’s is perhaps the most eye-catching, as he is the only former WWE Heavyweight Champion who has been let go today. He is also a former WWE NXT Champion, two-time WWE United States Champion, six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, four-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and Money In the Bank winner, among many other accolades.
One legendary name that has taken to social media to praise Ziggler following his release is John Cena.
“One thousand five hundred and fifty four matches,” Cena wrote. “@HEELZiggler #Respect“
The number of WWE matches that Ziggler has wrestled is staggering, and his last official bout took place on the May 29 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, wrestling JD McDonough to a double countout.
Haus of Wrestling sends its best to everyone affected by today’s releases.
