UPDATE: Wrestlenomics has released the quarter-hour viewership for this week’s show, and the overrun featuring the conclusion of Becky Lynch versus Tiffany Stratton for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship drew an average of 1,061,000 viewers, with about 403,000 of those in the P18 – 49 demo.
Last night’s episode of WWE NXT went off the air with Becky Lynch holding the WWE NXT Women’s Championship over her head. In the main event, The Man successfully dethroned Tiffany Stratton as the face of the yellow and black brand’s women’s division and, in the process, also knocked Dominik Mysterio off as the main roster star with the most drawing power on Tuesday nights. The one thing that does unite them, however, is that they are now the only WWE main roster talent holding NXT gold.
SportsTVRatings reports that last night’s episode of WWE NXT drew an average of 850,000 viewers, with a .26 rating in the P18 – 49 demi. For comparison, last week’s episode drew an average of 673,000 viewers, with a .18 rating in the P18 – 49 demo, or about 229,000 viewers. This appears to be the most-watched episode of the show in about three years.
Lynch’s husband, Seth “Freaking” Rollins, made a guest appearance on the June 20 episode of WWE NXT, defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker. That episode drew an average of 773,000 viewers, with about 300,000 of those in the P18 – 49 demo. The overrun for that episode, featuring the conclusion of Rollins versus Breakker, drew an average of 950,000 fans, with about 384,000 of those in the P18 – 49 demo.
Last Wednesday’s episode of AEW: Dynamite slightly edged out this week’s WWE NXT in overall viewership, bringing in an average of 887,000 viewers, with 409,000 of those in the P18 – 49 demo. With Endeavor moving into the driver’s seat of WWE, it would seem Nick Khan and the new management are hell-bent on seeing NXT become a bigger draw than their competition’s flagship program.
WWE NXT will present No Mercy on September 30, 2023, live on Peacock. It will take place at the Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center in Bakersfield, CA.
