The AEW All In media scrums are underway, and AEW President Tony Khan appears to be in a match-making mood. After Konosuke Takeshita and his manager, Don Callis, took to the stage, the bald and reviled manager proposed the idea of finally presenting Takeshita and Kenny Omega in a one-on-one match, preferably at AEW All Out. After mulling it over for a few moments, Khan agreed that the match made sense and declared it official for next weekend.
The match comes on the heels of weeks of tension between Omega and his former manager, Callis, who has welcomed Takeshita under his wing and seems to think he can be a bigger star than The Cleaner. The two men finally touched gloves in a trios match on tonight’s show when Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold took on and defeated The Golden Elite’s Omega, Kota Ibushi, and Adam Page. Now that Takeshita has proven he can defeat Omega in a multi-man match, Callis has made it clear he wants to prove he can do the same in singles action.
Earlier in the scrums, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy addressed the press and, at one point, was interrupted by Penta El Zero M and his manager, Alex Abrahantes. Once all the men were on stage, Khan took the opportunity to announce that Cassidy will defend his title against Penta on AEW Dynamite this week, and if he wins, will get a chance to take on Jon Moxley at AEW All Out, something Cassidy seems to desperately want.
