AEW All In London is in full swing, and there have already been some big headlines from the show. MJF and Adam Cole are the new ROH Tag Team Champions, Mercedes Mone is in attendance, and HOOK has taken back the FTW Championship from Jack Perry. However, there is one story already permeating around the web regarding a backstage confrontation between CM Punk and Jack Perry.
During his unsuccessful FTW Championship defense against Hook, the former Jungle Boy dropped Taz’s son through the windshield of his limousine. Following the move, Perry looked into the camera and noted that “it’s real glass, cry me a river,” a shot at CM Punk following a reported backstage encounter the two had weeks ago at Collision regarding a segment involving smashed glass. Perry was said to be insistent about using real glass for the spot, while Punk, the AEW doctors, and the production team were against the request.
Fightful reported earlier that a physical confrontation between Punk and Perry took place backstage moments before The Second City Saint made his way through the curtain for his match against Samoa Joe. In an update, Fightful now reports that, according to one side of the situation, Perry approached Punk backstage and “stepped in his face” before bumping up against the “Real AEW World Champion.” Perry then apparently “came at” Punk before getting choked; it was not made clear if Punk choked Perry or someone else in the area trying to break things up.
