Earlier this month, ESPN released their ranking of the top pro wrestlers under the age of thirty, and atop that list was none of that AEW World Champion, MJF. It comes as no surprise that Friedman, one of the centerpieces of AEW’s programming, takes the top spot, but it was not without some stiff competition for the distinction. Rounding out the top five behind him were, in order, WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, former WWE United States Champion Austin Theory, AAA Mega Champion El Hijo de Vikingo, and WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio.
Closing out the top ten is a viral sensation and WWE Superstar, Logan Paul. Paul has had his fair share of big moments already this year, all of which included Ricochet in some form, but his infrequency on television has to have worked against him in the rankings. This morning, unprompted, Friedman decided to send a message to Paul regarding his spot in the rankings.
“Yo @LoganPaul I’m a big fan and I heard you were very upset with your ranking in the @espn top 30 under 30,” he began. “I couldn’t agree with you more, the list was flawed. What the hell is a Vikingo?!? Would love to come on @impaulsive and talk about the list as well as the fact @aew is about to run the biggest show in the history of the sport on aug 27th! Hopefully your boss and our mutual friend Jolly old Saint Nick will allow it! P.S. I wrote this whilst sipping on a prime. Yours sincerely. -Numero uno, MJF”
For those wondering who “Jolly old Saint Nick” is, Friedman is referring to the CEO of WWE, Nick Khan. The brash, young champion has dropped Khan’s name in the past during AEW promos, usually while teasing that his contract comes up in 2024. If Friedman does appear on Impaulsive, the conversation will no doubt draw attention, as both men always seem to know exactly what the fans want to see and hear.
