The Judgment Day isn’t just drawing the attention of many roster members; they are also drawing eyeballs to the WWE product from fans. This past Tuesday night, WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio put his title on the line against Dragon Lee, who had Dominik’s father, Rey, in his corner. In the end, with a little help from his “Mami” Rhea Ripley, Dominik was able to hang onto his championship for one more week.
The build for the match began last week when Rey appeared in a pre-taped promo that aired in the NXT arena, agreeing to second Lee in his match. The bout was referenced again on Monday Night RAW when Damian Priest said to Seth Rollins that Dominik is the hardest-working champion in WWE and would be defending his title the following night. The hype seems to have paid off because fans certainly tuned in to see how the action played out.
