This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite started off with a bang, but rather than an explosive match, or some physical altercation, the show kicked off with the implosion of the Jericho Appreciation Society. After 18 months of dominance, the members of Chris Jericho’s latest All Elite Wrestling faction called for a mandatory meeting. The gathering was not under good circumstances, as Jericho had teamed with The Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita last week on Dynamite 200 to defeat Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia with underhanded tactics.
The group consisting of Guevara, Jake Hager, Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Anna Jay A.S., and Tay Melo each took a moment at the top of the show to air their grievances with The Ocho. Menard, in particular, delivered an emotional speech about how Jericho was his favorite wrestler when he was growing up. Not only did he use his first paycheck ever to buy a Jericho shirt, but Le Champion was instrumental in bringing 2point0 to AEW after they had been released from their WWE contracts.
Just like his stablemates before him, Menard walked out on Jericho and left him alone in the ring. Backstage, “The Demo God” ran into Callis and said that he’d made a decision about joining his old friend’s group. However, that announcement will be made next week.
