It’s a good thing “Mella is money” because being a parent isn’t cheap! Earlier today, WWE stars Carmella and Corey Graves confirmed they are expecting their first child.
“Mella is Mommy,” the former women’s WWE Money In The Bank holder shared on social media, along with doe-eyed face and heart emojis.
Attached to the post were four photos, one of which included a sandwich board reading, “After Every Storm Comes A Rainbow. Baby Polinsky. Due Nov 2023.”
The “storm” that Carmella mentions is likely a reference to a miscarriage she opened up about last October, a month after suffering it following an ectopic pregnancy.
The news has been welcomed warmly by the pro wrestling community, even if it does mean fans could be deprived of Carmella on their TV screens for the foreseeable future. It is worth noting that both Maria Kanellis-Bennett and Maryse have both participated in WWE angles while being pregnant so it is not a given the Staten Island princess will immediately be off TV.
“It’s just all been such a whirlwind,” Carmella tells People. “I think because of my past, it was hard to get excited off the bat about this one, but I was cautiously optimistic. I try to have a good mindset, a positive mindset this time around, and it’s working. So I’m very happy about that.”
Unfortunately for Carmella, it sounds as if the morning sickness that comes with being pregnant has left her feeling nauseous and tired already. Despite that, she is still trying to enjoy the moment and prepare for the journey ahead.
“It’s kind of this weird space where I’m excited, but also just a little apprehensive because of the miscarriages,” she conceded. “It’s unfortunate that it robs you of the true excitement that should be there.”
This will be Graves’ fourth child as he has three from a previous marriage.
Haus of Wrestling sends its congratulations to the soon-to-be new parents! And Graves’ brother, Sam Adonis, who will become an uncle!
